Lessons in IT Disaster Recovery: A plan is not enough

“No plan survives contact with the enemy.”

Those words of wisdom, dispensed in the 19th century by Prussian General Helmuth von Moltke, were invoked at a recent partner Enablement, Awareness and Engagement session we conducted. At the gathering, we presented Cutover’s IT disaster recovery and Technology Resilience capabilities to an audience of crisis and resilience professionals.

Given the increasing global disruptions, crises and upheavals, those words are as true today as they ever were, one of our leading partners said.

A solution that works in real time

Cutover was presented as an embedded solution for the partners’ clients that face big disruptions – that never go as you think they’re going to go.

Having a real-time, agile solution that can orchestrate a response to a sudden crisis is critical for business continuity and recovery, and Cutover’s platform meets those needs. Even for the largest events –  involving thousands of employees, Cutover can help launch responses and recoveries in a short period of time, and creates an indelible audit trail that meets regulatory requirements.

Orchestration with a 'Swiss Army Knife'

Cutover isn’t just one tool – it can bring thousands of tools together so issues can be addressed in real time and in the right order. As Cutover Partner Director Jon Coles said in the meeting: “Think of it as a Swiss Army Knife” – an orchestration system that holds many tools you can access easily when you need them the most.

Cutover’s highly visible and agile platform reduces the time to execute events, while lowering costs and meeting compliance needs. “It’s the kind of solution regulators – from across many more industries than just financial services – like to see,” Coles said.
