New folder settings

(Release 2025.8)

For better event management and organization, there are two new folder settings now available. You can now lock a folder, stopping runbooks within the folder from being moved to another folder. You can also choose to default all runbooks in a folder to Live run, meaning Rehearsal mode will be unavailable. To find out more about managing folders, please read the Create and Manage Folders help article.

New Runbook and Template creation flow
(Release 2025.8)

We’ve simplified the runbook and template creation process! You can now create templates directly from the Templates tab with the new ‘Create Template’ button and a single, unified interface.

  • View the Runbook type name in its header and less commonly used fields like Admins, Time Zones, and Scheduled End have been removed.
  • The ‘Only display approved templates’ checkbox has been moved to Advanced Settings to avoid cluttering the main view.

Note: The runbook duplication flow was not changed.

Ability to manage your own SSO certificates

Integration Setup Now Supports In-Line Custom Field Creation
(Release 2025.9)

You no longer need to predefine custom fields before configuring an integration. The setup process now supports creating custom fields directly within the integration configuration flow.

This update reduces manual steps and makes it easier to define exactly what you need without leaving the context of your integration setup.

Template version numbers now displayed
(Release 2025.9)

To improve clarity and traceability, template version numbers are now shown in the following places:

  • When selecting a linked task template
  • When creating a new runbook
  • Template list and template table view

New Custom Field Group endpoints

(Release 2025.9)

We’ve introduced five new Custom Field Group API endpoints to help make runbook customization smarter and more scalable. We’ve also added a new ‘relationships’ attribute letting you directly associate individual custom fields with their groups.

We’ve also made enhancements to existing endpoints, improving filtering support and refining schema descriptions for a better developer experience. To find out about the changes we’ve made in our last update click here.

Add Custom Field(s) when Creating or Editing a Task
(Release 2025.10)

Add Snippets to folders
(Release 2025.10)

It’s now easier to manage and structure reusable content within your workspace with the new folder organization for snippets.

Note: All existing snippets will be automatically moved to the Default folder (if it exists), or to the oldest created folder if not. To find out more about Snippets, see our Create Snippets article here

Data source management
(Release 2025.10)

You can now refresh your data source to update authentication without needing to create a new one. This allows you to continue using searchable custom fields within your runbook, even after a token expires—a significant improvement over the previous behavior, where expired tokens couldn’t be updated.

Integration admin users can now manage System parameters
(Release 2025.10)

For greater control and flexibility when managing configuration values, Integration Admin roles can now create, view, update, and delete system parameters.

Enhanced Microsoft Teams integration

You can now send messages to existing Microsoft Teams chats—including both Group and One-on-One chats—directly from a Cutover runbook.

What's New:

  • Support for chat messaging in addition to channel messaging
  • Choose between Group or One-on-One chats
  • Search for existing chats by selecting a participant
  • Delivered messages include a link back to the Cutover runbook for context

Note: Chats must already exist and contain previous messages. New chats cannot be created from Cutover.

Improved visibility for Linked runbook tasks
(Release 2025.11)

It’s now easier to identify and manage child (linked) tasks from a parent runbook:

  • Filter tasks by the child runbook’s runbook-level custom field.
  • Display the runbook-level custom field value directly on the linked task.

This update helps users quickly surface and understand task context across linked runbooks.

New Workspace role: Template Reviewer + Multi-reviewer support

In addition, you can now select multiple reviewers when submitting a template, enabling a more flexible and collaborative review processes.

Linked Runbooks enhancements
(Release 2025.12)

Linked runbooks now display the value of the runbook-level custom field from the child task, making it easier to see relevant context at a glance. You can filter by both child tasks and the custom field itself.

The new progress bar shows the completion status of child tasks. Click to view more details, see all child tasks within the runbook, and apply further filters by stage and task type.
