Microsoft Teams with Authentication integration overview
Our Microsoft Teams integration allows users to authenticate with Microsoft and send messages to Microsoft Teams channels. This integration can be used to share the progress of runbooks; therefore reducing time spent in project meetings and giving real-time visibility for everyone involved at the right time.
What can the Microsoft Teams with Authentication integration do?
To be able to choose a Microsoft Teams channel to send the message to, you will need to be authenticated.
Once a user is authenticated, you can select Microsoft Teams channels within Cutover. Select a channel, add a message, and click Save. When the task is started, the message added into the task details is sent to the specific Microsoft Teams channel.
You can send messages to any channel of your choice to keep your teams informed on the latest progress in Cutover. In a simple step, you can greatly enhance the transparency of your critical work by getting information and updates without needing to leave Microsoft Teams.
You should already be using Microsoft Teams in your organization. Please contact our Customer Success team to set up your Instance Settings information and also add in the appropriate information for authentication with Microsoft.

MS Teams integration FAQs
How many Microsoft Teams channels can you have?
There is no limit to the number of Microsoft Teams channels. You can select a distinct channel for every instance of the Microsoft Teams integration in your runbooks.
Can one message be posted in multiple channels and can it be sent to users too?
Our integration targets one channel, therefore the message will be posted to the channel that has been configured with the integration. The message can only be sent to channels and not users.
Can I set up two different Microsoft Team integrations; one that is triggered manually and another that is triggered automatically?
Yes, you can set up different Microsoft Teams integrations for manual and automatic use cases. Please contact our Customer Success team to set up the integrations.
Is the Microsoft Teams integration secure?
Absolutely. The integration uses the OAuth2 protocol recommended by Microsoft. Users are authorized and authenticated directly with Microsoft Azure. The actions of searching through channels and sending a message are performed using the Microsoft Graph API.
